Petracca, Jr. P.E., it negotiated a NYCDOC emergency acquisition with a Verbal Agreement to Proceed on 7/29/91, a start date of 7/30/91 and a completion date of 10/15/91, 75 days later. The facility included twenty three fabric structures with 16 dormitories, a dining structure, health clinic, library, commissary, recreation unit and 2 storage units along with 75 modular building units for support services. The work included 624,000 SF of site clearing, 26,000 cy of excavation, 306,000 sf of site concrete, 297,000 sf of asphalt paving, 180,000 sf of building area, 4,000 cy of structural concrete and an independent power plant that supplies all the electrical needs for the facility. Yes designed and built on time in 75 days without any lead time.
